Hey there and Happy Friday! Coming at you with an instant gratification project! This project is PERFECT for festival season, markets, gifts and all the things. Continue reading for the free pattern.

This beginner friendly project works up in about 10-15 minutes. Don't worry if you've never used the crochet i-cord technique before. It's surprisingly easy! If you can make a chain and draw up a loop, you can make this project!

The pattern includes materials list with links, video support and written instructions. If you have any questions, leave a comment below.

Video Tutorial

Written Pattern

Step 1: Make a slip knot and ch 3.

Step 2: Insert your hook in the second chain from the hook and pull up a loop.

Step 3: Insert your hook into the last chain and pull up a loop. You should have 3 loops on your hook.

Step 4: (At this step, I vary slightly from the normal technique. I prefer to work from left to right.) With the working cord, draw up a loop in the left stitch and then carefully remove it from your hook. Draw up a loop in the middle stitch and carefully remove it from your hook. Draw up a loop in the final stitch but do not remove it from your hook.

Step 5: Return the 1st and 2nd loop to the hook. Bring your working yarn back to the left side.

If making the wristlet, repeat step 4 until your work measures 13 inches.

If making the crossbody, repeat step 4 until your work measures 48 inches (or preferred length.)

(TIP: Choose a length that works for your height. Keep in mind that the strap will stretch slightly once the phone is attached. The goal is to select a length that will allow the phone to hang comfortably at your hip.)

Step 6: Cut cord, leaving a 5 inch tail. Slide lobster clasp onto the i-cord before seaming ends together. Seam ends using the horizontal mattress stitch (or method of choice). Secure beginning & ends tails with a double knot. Trim excess to about 1/4inch.

Step 7: Finish off with a wrap knot to hide the seam and tail ends and secure lobster clasp in place. (There is a wrap knot tutorial at timestamp 6:23 of the above video.)

All done!
